Pregnancy Temperature Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern

Pregnancy Temperature Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern from Dana Nield Designs

Crochet a special pregnancy temperature baby blanket while you or someone you love is expecting! The Baby Blanket is designed to be worked throughout pregnancy and gifted to the new baby when he or she arrives.

It’s a meaningful project that lets you crochet a little each day while creating a keepsake to celebrate those nine months of anticipation.

The designer had so much fun designing this blanket. She wanted the finished size to work well whether a baby arrived early at 28 weeks or stayed cozy until 42 weeks.

She tried five different stitches to find the right combination of texture and size, and the half double crochet worked in the front side loop was the winner. It creates beautiful ribbing while keeping the pattern enjoyable to work throughout pregnancy.

The blanket features three columns rather than one row for each day. Each day, you crochet one-third of a row, which creates an interesting design while also giving a little nod to the three trimesters of pregnancy.

She made this blanket for her fourth baby, who arrived at 37 weeks and 3 days, and the finished blanket measured approximately 36 x 39 inches—a size she was very happy with.

The blanket is finished with one of my favorite borders, the camel stitch. It adds a beautiful textured edge and is a stitch she finds herself using often.

Whether you are making this for your own growing family or creating a special gift for an expecting parent, the Pregnancy Temperature Baby Blanket is a wonderful way to crochet through the waiting months and welcome a new little one into the world.
